- Device Name: The custom name you set for your DLNA device (stored locally in UserDefaults)
- Network Information: Your device's IP address for DLNA service functionality
- System Information: Basic macOS system information for compatibility and troubleshooting

We do not collect any usage data, analytics, or telemetry information. All application usage remains local to your device.

Important: Castin does not access, store, or transmit any media content you stream or download. All media processing occurs locally on your device.
2. How We Use Your Information
2.1 Local Processing Only
All information collected by Castin is processed locally on your device and is not transmitted to any external servers or third parties.
2.2 Service Functionality
We use your device information solely for:
- Providing DLNA discovery and streaming services
- Storing your device preferences locally
- Managing network communication for media streaming
- Facilitating local file downloads to your designated folders
3. Data Storage
3.1 Local Storage
Castin stores the following information locally on your macOS device:
- Device name preferences in UserDefaults
- Downloaded media files in your Documents/CastinDownloads folder
- Application settings and configuration
3.2 No Cloud Storage
We do not store any of your personal information, preferences, or media content on cloud servers or external databases.
4. Data Sharing
No Data Sharing: Castin does not share, sell, rent, or otherwise disclose your personal information to third parties.
5. Network Communications
5.1 Local Network Only
Castin operates exclusively on your local network:
- DLNA service discovery and communication
- HTTP server for receiving media streams (port 8199 by default)
- SSDP protocol for device discovery
5.2 Internet Access
Castin may access the internet only when:
- Downloading media content from M3U8 streams you provide
- Accessing online media URLs for streaming purposes
6. Third-Party Services
6.1 FFmpeg Integration
Castin uses FFmpeg for media processing. FFmpeg is open-source software and operates locally on your device. We do not control FFmpeg's data handling practices.
7. Data Security
7.1 Local Security
We implement reasonable security measures to protect your information:
- Local data storage using macOS standard security practices
- No transmission of sensitive data over networks
- Regular application updates to address security vulnerabilities
7.2 Your Responsibility
You are responsible for:
- Maintaining the security of your macOS device
- Securing your downloaded media files
- Using the application on trusted networks only
8. Children's Privacy
Castin is not intended for use by children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
9. Your Rights
9.1 Data Access and Control
Since all data is stored locally, you have complete control over your information:
- Access and modify device preferences through the application interface
- Delete downloaded media files from your file system
- Reset application settings by deleting preferences
- Uninstall the application to remove all local data
9.2 Data Deletion
To delete all Castin data from your device:
- Delete the CastinDownloads folder from your Documents directory
- Remove Castin preferences from macOS Settings
- Uninstall the Castin application
10. International Users
